Ullswater 'Steamers'
Searching for an adventure-filled or relaxing family day out in the Lake District? Visit Ullswater ‘Steamers’, an award-winning and environmentally accredited attraction, and experience a magical landscape from a unique perspective.
Our lake cruises have operated on Ullswater for over 160 years. We maintain one of the largest heritage vessel fleets in the world, sailing a serpentine course for eight miles with spectacular views of Lakeland’s highest mountains. Cruises connect with many famous walking routes, operating between Glenridding in the south and Pooley Bridge in the north, stopping at Howtown on the eastern shore. A seasonal shuttle also operates between Glenridding and National Trust Aira Force pier.
Ullswater Way walks
All four of our piers connect to many footpaths including sections of the Ullswater Way, a 20-mile route circling the entire lake. It can be walked in either direction, from any starting point, and in shorter sections. Just follow the daffodil way markers along the path.
